Penny - Carmarthen Antiques Centre

I stock furniture from the 18th Century through to the mid 20th Century, Antique bottles & stoneware, quirky items and furnishings for your home including fabrics, pictures, pottery, glass, books and metalware.  Could be anything if I think it will sell!

I believe you should mix up the centuries, they look fabulous together!  At home I try not to buy anything new (unless bespoke craft pieces), why would you when vintage items are much better made and unique?  You'll also help the environment by buying pre-loved instead of new - it's win/win!

My own collection began when I found the Victorian rubbish dump on the farm where I grew up. I spent many happy hours digging for bottles and pots.   50+ years laterI still can't resist them!  The pictorial advertising on many of them is a wonderful glimpse into the past.  Adulthood meant my hobby had to become self-financing, so I started selling to fund my purchases.  Now semi-retired, it's all that I do work-wise and exclusively at Carmarthen Antiques Cente, so call and take a look - you are bound to find something you like.

CALON VINTAGE

Calon Vintage & Antiques

Established in 2019, Calon Vintage & Antiques are proud to source a wide variety of interesting, eclectic and traditional items, from Antique furniture to Welsh Blankets, vintage and retro items of all sorts.  As a result of our partnership with Carmarthen Antiques Centre, owner Emma has had the pleasure of participating in BBC Antiques Road Trip, where she met a number of experts and managed to sell them a few items from aroung the centre!

Emma's love and particular passion is mid century furniture and items from the 70's and 80's that have the nostalgia element to it for her.  She loves sourcing beautiful, tactile pieces such as glass, art, wood and items that have a local South and West Wales focus to them, this is reflected in the items stocked here.  However, at the moment, her very favourite antiques hang in her home and are definately not for sale!  They are court papers from 1847, outling the accused, the crime and the punishment.  They are exceptionally interesting, according to the framer, the best things she's ever worked on.   Another of our traders that is a collector as well as a seller!

Calon Vintage & Antiques also buy directly from customers on occassion, so if you have anything of interest don't hesitate to bring it in when you're passing by Carmarthen Antiques store.

Black Lion Crafts

Is a family run interest in Antiques and Collectables, currently residing in the town of Pontardddulais.  It was established 15 years ago when I lived on Black Lion Road in Cross Hands, Carmarthenshire, which gave me the business name idea.

I have always had an interest in Antiques and Collectables, even as a child, always dabbling in buying and selling from an early age.  I have a love for old and quirky items.  I also refurbish and bring back to life old, discarded items.  I have two small units in Carmarthen Antiques Centre.

I have no specific style that I adhere to (if I like it, I buy it!) but I do have a keen interest in unusual and decorative items.

Hiraeth Decorative (South Wales)

Clare and Scott very recently joined Carmarthen Antiques Centre.

Hiraeth Decorative started trading this year.  Realising our compact Miner's Cottage on the outskirts of Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) was starting to overflow with the vintage treasures we had aquired over the past few years, the time had come to turn a passion into a business!  We can be seen trading at the many major Antiques Markets throughout Wales and England, enabling us to source some unique and extremely interesting items to sell at The Centre and keep abreast of latest trends in collecting.

The word "Hiraeth" means a longing for the past, a yearning for nostalgia and deep longing for home. Striving to live up to that discription, Hiraeth Decorative focus on selling a quirky mix of items from days gone by, whether it be antique, vintage or retro pieces that spark that precious memory.  We are looking forward to introducing our collection to customers visiting Carmarthen Antiques Centre at Unit 13.

One Of a Find

I joined Carmarthen Antiques Centre in October 2023, but my connection goes back much further.  For years I enjoyed browsing the cente, exploring the range of unique finds from various traders.  Each has their own speciality, whether antique, vintage or retro, which means there's always something to discover, fitting every taste and style.

Previously, I owned a shop in Carmarthen Town Centre called "One of a FInd", where I shared my love for vintage treasures.  However, as life changed, I decided to close the shop but wasn't ready to let go of my passion for antique and vintage items.  Having my unit here (Unit 20), One of a Find allows me to continue buying, selling and connecting with others who love thrill of the trasure hunt!

My interest in Antiques started early, I spent countless days in antique shops and flea markets with my mother and grandmother, both of whom had a passion for finding unique pieces wiht stories and history.  This love has stayed with me, and today I don't focus on a particular era, I enjoy a bit of everything, creating an eclectic mix that reflects my own personality and my home.

In my unit at Carmarthen Antiques store, I specialise in up-cycled items. blending the charm of the old with the creativity of the new.  I love taking pieces that may have been overlooked and giving them a fresh start.  I also stock Frenchic Paint, for those who want to transform their own finds and bring them back to life.

The team at Carmarthen Antiques led by Nic and a combination of so many knowledgeable traders, creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere.  If you are looking for a particular item and it's not currently in stock, rest assured someone here will gladly keep an eye out for you!  It's truly a community of people who understand the charm of timeless treasures - and the joy of finding the perfect piece.
